Happy autumn equinox!
We are slowly welcoming the season of mist and decay. The days are noticably getting shorter and darker and the colors are changing hue. It's the season where the spirits come out and the veil is thin. What does autumn mean to you?
It's only a few weeks before we cross the Atlantic to the United States for our upcoming US tour. Also, tickets for our ritual at AFAS Live in the Netherlands next year will go live this Wednesday.

In focus, @vik__ink Obban has been a warrior sin

In focus, @vik__ink
Obban has been a warrior since he joined the ritual at Amager Bio in Copenhagen in late 2019. Since then he has been part of the core warrior group and joined many tours. Obban can be recognized by his flaming red beard.
About being part of Heilung, Obban writes: "Heilung is channeling energy from above, connecting with roots and honoring my ancestors. I have been destined to carry their legacy, with all respect and great love till I die. When I go out there I make a beast of myself and at the same time it relieves all the pain of being a man. For that moment I am free..."

In focus, @gwydionzomer . Gwydion was with Heilun

In focus, @gwydionzomer .
Gwydion was with Heilung at the first ritual at Castlefest in 2017 and rejoined the warrior group in 2019 after completing his forging apprenticeship. Next to his role as warrior, Gwydion is also responsible for the many trees that decorate the stage each ritual. As of 2021, Gwydion’s wife Kati has also joined as a warrior. Since their wedding earlier this Summer, they are planning to establish a home and forge in Vojvodina, Serbia.
About being in Heilung, Gwydion writes: “For me, Heilung is part of a vast landscape of modern tribes and communities that share similar goals, experiences, and feelings of belonging. The art digs back to old native mythologies and is to me a sign that no matter how repressed a culture may be, it can always resurface, or least inspire something new and wonderful.
It is an honour to help build and create this landscape in any way that I can.
In the rituals, both on- and off stage, I am learning that trust is an essential element for the magic to happen. In the songs and dances I can give it all because I know that the energy is well received and will manifest itself stronger…”
Talking about trees, we are still open for suggestions about our tree-planting initiative. For the past many Heilung tours, 1 dollar from each ticket sold has been donated to a tree planting initiative chosen by us. For this next US tour, we would like to hear your voices and invite you to join in on the decision about which organization and where these new baby trees shall get to live out their new lives in peace. Let’s get all ideas on the table and then make a vote at the end of the upcoming US tour. If all tickets get sold, it's potentially a pretty big chunk of nature that we together can help to preserve. In focus, @ruda_nadiuha Nadia first joined on th

In focus, @ruda_nadiuha
Nadia first joined on the two rituals we did in Ukraine in 2019. She started out as a warrior, but has as of recently also picked up parts as a singer. During the ritual, Nadia has to quickly transform between her two vocal roles; which are also visually different. You can however always recognize her by her striking blue hair.
About Nadia's journey with Heilung she says:
"Heilung is my tribe that I had been looking for all my life. Since childhood, I felt like there had to be someone who is just like me. Then, when I heard Heilung's songs for the first time in 2015, I had strange feeling that somehow it was 'me' making that music. It was someone with the same energy, and I stopped feeling lonely.
I used Heilung's songs for some of my own performances and learned lyrics before they appeared on the internet (I did auditioning and wrote transcriptions of what I heard). Then, in 2019, I joined the tribe as warrior. It felt like it was a magic story with a lot of coincidences. From that moment I felt like coming home.
We went through so many experiences together. At some point I took some vocal parts of the performance. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes less; but our main task as warriors is to keep the ritual going..."
And indeed the ritual will keep going. Now that the Europe summer tour has come to an end, we look forward to our upcoming US tour. Some rituals are selling out. For tickets, see our website:

Tonight we are performing our last ritual of the E

Tonight we are performing our last ritual of the EU tour at @lowlands_fest Festival in the Netherlands. Festival tours are always a bit more challenging than singular rituals, but all these challenges are what make touring unique and fun for everyone involved.
Now that we are closing the tour and look back at the shows we did, it is extra flattering to read the article @metalhammeruk / Loudersound wrote about the ritual two nights ago at @arctangentfestival in the UK.

In focus, @ead_weard
We have two more rituals to go this EU tour! Right now we have a break for a few days until we travel to the UK for Arctangent festival. In the meantime, here's Ead's story.
Ead joined as a warrior for the first time at our performance at Roundhouse in London in 2018. He has since been part of the core warrior group and picked up fixed tasks during stage buildup.
About Ead's journey with Heilung he says: "All my life I’ve felt the presence of the Otherworld, and sought connection to it. In Heilung I’m given a tap-root to those veiled depths, stirred as they are through transcendental music, ritual, and the magic therein. In return I give myself entirely, every part, in every sense, to be a channel through which something greater moves. Sure as Heilung is healing, it’s an honour to do this work, singing, chanting, and otherwise participating in such powerful incantations and invocations. Here is an opportunity to fulfil, in part, my very name, weard of ead, guardian of an immaterial treasure … Hail Tiw ᛏ..."

As our EU tour is progressing and closing in to the end, we are looking forward to the tour’s creative and spiritual highlight.
At Z7 in Pratteln Switzerland, near the German border, we will have full control and a complete setlist to show you. Furthermore, it’s a location where we can push the performance to its full potential.

Today we would like to send our love and heartfelt

Today we would like to send our love and heartfelt thoughts to all the hardworking crew and visitors at @metaldays.festival.official in Slovenia.
The festival has been canceled due to extreme weather causing a state of emergency in the whole area. Everyone of you that are there, please follow the instructions of the authorities and be safe!
We managed to get out just minutes before all roads closed down and are now safely on our way to our next stop on this tour.
Photo is from the mainstage this morning before we evacuated. We hope the weather allows us to return another day to this beautiful part of the planet.
